This 200sqm office interior was reconfigured to accommodate team growth and improve amenity. Central to the redesign was the removal of a large internal store room, allowing natural light to flood into the heart of the office. New meeting rooms, a refreshed breakout zone, and better workstation layout supported the client’s operational goals while elevating the experience of the space.

Secondary Explanation

Design Approach

The design was grounded in functionality but lifted by details. A feature wall with corporate colours, textured battening and bespoke wallpaper provided an expressive moment in an otherwise hardworking fitout. These subtle interventions helped reflect the team's diverse cultural identity, while contributing to an environment that feels unified, professional and warm—without overreaching the budget.

MDP provided end-to-end interior services, with Christine taking a hands-on role in managing all trades, sourcing and coordinating furniture, and ensuring delivery aligned with the client’s operational timelines. With minimal room for error and a strict budget in play, every element—from material selection to furniture logistics—was carefully scoped and managed. Installation occurred outside office hours to avoid disrupting the client’s workflow. The project was delivered on time, on budget and with no downtime for staff—a quiet success that now supports a more connected, efficient and future-ready workplace.

What They Said

Testiary Explanation

Cultural & Spatial Sensitivity

Designing for a diverse, growing team meant listening closely to what mattered—light, flow, and feeling. The reconfiguration allowed for more open office areas, relocated storage to improve spatial logic, and created private rooms for meetings and focused work. Key materials were chosen to reflect both brand and cultural diversity—adding identity without excess. This wasn’t a high-budget transformation, but it was high impact. The design makes space for the people who use it, improving not just efficiency, but the everyday experience.

This project is proof that even modest office fitouts can have a powerful impact—with the right approach. MDP led the design, managed the budget and trades, and ensured the final result exceeded expectations without exceeding cost. By working closely with the client and planning installations after hours, we delivered a seamless transition for staff and a workplace that’s now better lit, better organised and better aligned with how the team works. It’s practical and polished, with a few thoughtful moments that speak directly to the people who call it home five days a week.
